Residents Say Home Run Balls from Local Rhode Island Field Damage Property

Newport, R.I. Residents in the neighborhood say colleges have damaged their homes and cars from baseball teams from a summer summer team use.

Residents of the Newport Daily News newspaper were gathered in the City Hall to discuss the hard-lineers who will be leaving Cardines Field. Newport Collegiate Baseball League team Newport Gulls is using this field.

Neighbors say that games are not a problem, but instead they point to the practice of shooting. Residents say the balls are moving away from easy throws.

Neighbors say the fact that the city is lifted up from the right to protect them does not prevent the balls from jumping out of the cannonballs.

Mayor Harry Winthrop plans to meet the team this week. Team officials did not comment immediately.
