QBE Canada Unveils New Leadership Team, Including Thompson as Director


QBE Canada unveiled a new leadership team, which is being led by Jamie Thompson, who took on the role as director of Canada earlier this year.

In this role, Thompson has oversight of QBE’s Canadian customers, including those who purchase insurance from QBE’s Lloyd’s operation. Thompson has worked for QBE in the Lloyd’s marketplace for most of his career. He also worked as a senior underwriter for QBE in Canada for four years from 2010 to 2015.
The senior team is complemented by the following appointments:

Scott Pidduck, currently financial director and financial director, will assume Underwriting’s position. He took over Valerie Jobson, who will retire at the end of this year.
Darren Goldman, who was previously director of QBE Canada, was appointed Canadian general manager. In this role, he will supervise claims, operations and financing.
Richard Newman has taken on a new role as the insurer, Accident and Automobile. Promotion is strategically important in deepening relations with existing clients, and in collaboration with brokers, many of whom seek a single market solution for their overall liability risks.
