Phillies Fan Injured by Flying Hot Dog Launched by Phanatic

It’s not a foul ball that leaves a baseball fanatic in Philadelphia with a black eye, it’s a flying frankfurter.

Kathy McVay said Monday’s Phillies game was the time when Phillie Phanatic, the team’s mascot, was dropping the hot dog thrower. McVay was sitting next to his home plaque, and he says, a hot dog sandwich wrapped in a parcel hitting him in the face.

McVay says it was a shoulder injury, so she could not move away from the sausages.

He left to leave the game and a small hematoma was diagnosed.

He said he would not plan legal action against WPVI-TV.

Phillies apologized to McVay on Tuesday and offered his team tickets to any game.
