The State Highway Patrol says nine people were killed in traffic crashes around Ohio during the Christmas weekend.
The patrol says three people died in drug or alcohol related crashes during the five-day holiday period that began Dec. 21.
He also noted that three deaths were associated with a lack of safety belt use.
During this year’s Christmas travel period, 404 troops were arrested to drive a vehicle while the troops were down. In addition, 164 drug arrests and 635 seat belt violations were issued.
