Disaster Declaration Approved for March Storm in New Jersey


President Trump issued a major disaster declaration for the state of New Jersey for damage caused by a severe winter storm and a snow storm on March 6-7.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency said Friday that the announcement would raise federal funds to help the communities recover.

Public assistance will be provided for emergency work and repair or replacement of damaged premises in the provinces of Bergen, Essex, Morris, Passaic and Somerset. Snow removal aids will also be available in the Bergen and Morris districts.

Assistance will be provided to the State to prevent or mitigate long-term risk and property arising from natural hazards.
