London-based specialist reinsurance commissioner Capsicum Re announced that Grahame “Chily” Chilton will join in this year.

Capsicum Re, together with Chilton’s CEO Rupert Swallow, said that it would help sustain global business development and shape the company’s strategic direction as the company moves on to the next stage.

That statement, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.’s June 18 message, Gallagher’s UK-based brokerage and insurance division, said CEO Chilton will miss this year’s assignment. It has been going on since February 2015.

Well known in the insurance market for the establishment and development of the Benfield Group, Chilton is the former president of Aon Benfield. Aon plc bought Benfield Group in 2008 and Chilton left Aon Benfield in 2012. Chilton and Swallow set up Capsicum Reinsurance Brokers in 2013 to work as the primary deal reinsurance broker outlet with Arthur J. Gallagher. Having offices in London, Miami, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago and Bermuda, the broker is preparing to celebrate its five-year anniversary.

“Capsicum Re has built up a solid business that is growing exponentially and moving toward becoming five global reinsurance brokers,” Swallow said. “The whole Capsicum Re team is looking forward to recalling Chily and taking advantage of their experience and experience as both the sales executive and the relationship manager of our joint venture with Gallagher.”

“Rupert and the entire Capsicum Re team have done a stellar job in just five years to become one of the market’s leading reinsurance brokers. “I had a terrific and rewarding time with Gallagher in my current role, and I look forward to working with him again later this year to re-join Capsicum Re and maximize his potential for further growth.”
