A bus hit an overpass at Newark’s Penn Station, peeling back part of its roof and injuring dozens of passengers.

Officials say about 50 people were on the bus, which was headed to New Jersey from Washington, when it hit the overpass at the entrance of the station late Sunday.
The police do not believe that any of the injuries will threaten life. However, more details were not available at the beginning of Monday.

The bus was operated by Pennsylvania-based Liberty Coach. A company spokesman declined to comment on the Associated Press on Monday.

The passengers told a scary sight after the accident.

Vijai Rupani told WABC TV in New York that he felt asleep when he got into an accident and felt “a sudden jolt”. Soon he saw that some passengers were bleeding.
