AXIS Names Ventresca to New Position of Chief Strategy Officer


AXIS Capital Holdings Ltd. announced that Linda Ventresca has been appointed to the newly created position of chief strategy officer.

Reporting directly to president and CEO Albert Benchimol, Ventresca will be responsible for guiding the development of the company’s strategic priorities and for driving the delivery of those priorities across the organization. She will continue to serve on the company’s executive committee.
Ventresca, previously acting as the main transformation officer, will continue to lead the company’s enterprise transformation program and will position AXIS to capitalize on changes that have reshaped the insurance market. In addition, AXIS ‘Corporate Development and Corporate Communications teams will continue to report to them.

Benchimol, “Linda is the perfect person to serve as a respected leader, trustworthy consultant and first chief strategy officer. “He has been working with AXIS since the beginning and understands the forces that transform our business and insurance industry in a comprehensive way.”

He will work with Benchimol to shape the company’s corporate strategy and will also serve as a joint venture with AXIS’s Insurance and Reinsurance companies.

Benchimol said that “helping to ensure direct alignment between our corporate strategies and the individual strategies that are driving our segments”.

At AXIS for more than 15 years, Ventresca has undertaken numerous leadership roles within the organization, including the head of Corporate Development and the director of Investor Relations.

Prior to joining AXIS, Ventresca was an investment adviser at MMX Capital Inc., where he worked extensively with AXIS as the portfolio company for the Trident II fund. Previously he was a member of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and the Financial Institutions Investment Banking Groups at UBS Securities LLC. He received an MBA from Columbia Business School and BSE from the University of Pennsylvania in Bioengineering.
