Aon Names Wanat U.S. Commercial Lines Broking Chief


Global broker has appointed Brian Wanat as chief broking officer of U.S. Commercial Risk Solutions.

In his new role, Wanat will have direct management responsibility for Financial Services Group, National Property, National Casualty, Aviation, Crisis Management, Marine and Aon’s Global Risk Consulting Group.
It will work with CEO Tom Fitzgerald, Aon Broking and the Aon Broking Executive Committee to ensure that the US brokerage strategy is aligned with global goals. In addition, Aon will be responsible for determining best practices for commercial brokerage in the field organization, and will work with National Industry Application Leader Theresa Bourdon to carry out the brokerage strategy among industry practice groups.

Wanat joined Aon’s Financial Services Group in 2002 and served as the latest manager. He spent time in AIG and CNA, focusing on his 25 years of experience in insurance and his new role. He will continue to be New York-based and will remain a member of the US Commerce Risk and Health Executive Committee and will report to Lori Goltermann, CEO of US Commerce Risk and Health.
