Since the first day of the Seventh Generation 3 Series, performance enthusiasts have been eagerly awaiting the new M3. Looks like we’re gonna have to wait a little longer. In the meantime, we will be satisfied with these images from The New M340i.
The new M340i, the most powerful 3-Series model ever, came out ahead of the LA Auto Show in the coming days. At the heart of the model is a 3.0-liter, sequential six-cylinder and turbocharged engine. The engine produces 382 horsepower (275 kW) and 500 Nm of torque.
Full performance has not yet been released, but the new BMW M340i xDrive will be able to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. The maximum speed is 249 km/h.
The engine will operate with a rear-wheel drive system (or four-wheel drive in the xDrive version) and an eight-speed automatic transmission. M340i also comes with M Sport suspension, new shock absorbers, electronically controlled differential, variable steering rack and front 13,7 inch (348 mm) (four-piston calipers), rear 11,6 inch (345 mm) (single-piston caliper) brakes.
The M340i was visually renewed from the outside and from the inside, and was different from previous generations. The price list has not yet been released, but the new model will be introduced in Los Angeles in the summer of 2019.
